Bathroom and toilet
When using the bathrooms and toilets, please note that the water pressure is often lower than you may be used to. Especially in summer, when everyone in Montecatini showers and cooks in the early evening, the water pressure can drop. The water pressure can also drop if all bathrooms are used at once.
When using the toilets, it is important to only use toilet paper. Please do not throw any other things into the toilet such as sanitary towels, OBs, Q-tips, ...
We always recommend flushing with the full amount of water.
There are drains in the showers in the bathrooms that can become blocked. Of course we clean them regularly, but if they don't drain, just let us know. We will then take care of it.
For your information, here are the pictures of how the drains can be opened. A little trick is sometimes to remove the small, flat cover on the top of the drain. It is best to place it next to the drain under the cover.

Flushing the toilet in the small bathroom on the first floor
In the small bathroom on the second floor there is a small silver button that you have to press for the water to flow. It is not enough to press the button once. The toilet flush works with air pressure. It is best to press it slowly 3-4 times until the water flows.

No food in the bedrooms
Please do not leave food or sugared drinks in the bedrooms, or in other parts of the house except the kitchen and the living room, so that animals and insects are not attracted.
Garbage
Keep as less garbage as possible in the house. The garbage goes into the green or black bins that are everywhere on the roadside. You can use all of these trash cans. Waste separation is not very common here, but you can throw paper and bottles into own containers at the exit of Montecatini (towards Miniera).
Do not leave the garbage (especially over night) in front of the front door (outside), otherwise animals will come to the house, and you have a big mess to clean up in the morning ;-).
Dishwasher
The use of the dishwasher is simple. There are 5 different programs you can chose as well as the off position. Set the program an press the "Play" button.

Refrigerator
The refrigerator consists of a refrigerator unit and a freezer unit. Please check if the temperatures are set correctly. Especially after a power failure. Press and hold the temperature indicator on the display for a few seconds. As soon as it flashes, set the desired temperature with the arrow keys.
Washing machine
The washing machine is located in the chamber at the end of the middle staircase in the house. Check if the water is turned on. Look at the picture. If the shutter lever is across the pipe, the water supply is interrupted. Make sure that the lever is parallel to the pipe. The power can be turned on at the switch on the left side behind the door.
Cleaning
If you are looking for cleaning material, you will find it in the chamber between the living room and the kitchen.
Dogs
Dogs are very welcome, and quickly feel at home in our house. However, it is not allowed to let them on or in the beds and you have to use only the appropriate bowls and dishes for animals. You can find dishes, towels and blankets for dogs in our petbox. Dogs are allowed to use the sofa in the livingroom, if you cover it with one of the blankets from the petbox.
Private bed linen and towels
In the house you will also find our private bed linen and private towels. Please only use the towels and bed linen that we have laid out for you and not others. Our towels are in the chest of drawers in the small bathroom upstairs. The bed linen and comforter covers are in the bed box in bedroom number 1. The bed box has a latch in the middle of the foot end. By pulling a small tab, the mechanism is released and the bed frame can be raised.
